Bamford helps deliver one of the earliest and fastest wheat harvests on record
Bamford featured in a recent update from Harry's Farm, where a video captured the farm's 2026 wheat harvest. Bamford winter wheat was among the crop being cut — using a Case IH 7088 combine — as the farm brought in its wheat in a record two and a half days, finishing on 15 July. Harry called it the earliest wheat harvest completion he's known.

Grain came off the field as warm as 35°C, requiring immediate cooling to protect quality
Yields nearly double the previous season
The heatwave that sped up harvest also delivered standout results in the field, with Bamford yields well ahead of last year:
7.5–8 tonnes/hectare average across the farm
Up to 10 tonnes/hectare in the best-performing fields
Compares with just 2–4 tonnes/hectare in last year's wet harvest
A substantial straw yield was also left in rows for baling — another win for the variety on a farm balancing arable output with practical, whole-system management.
Premium at the point of sale
The positive story continues beyond the field. Harry shared an update on marketing the crop:
"Bamford has done us well this year, I'm currently loading it out for ADM and I'm receiving a £5 premium for it too, which is a nice surprise."
The farm's wheat is moving through an ADM pool, with an indicative value Harry put at £175–£180 per tonne *at the time of recording (07/26) .
