Elsoms Trees has announced a major investment in expanded nursery capacity to support rising demand for high-quality trees across woodland creation and commercial forestry markets.
Backed by the UK’s leading independent seed and plant technology group, Elsoms Trees has acquired a 25-acre site near Pathhead in Midlothian. The new nursery strengthens the business’s long-term commitment to UK tree production by doubling its total capacity.
“This investment is about future-proofing tree supply for our customers,” said Nicolas Emson, Managing Director of Elsoms Trees. “It allows us to build scale in a controlled way, strengthen biosecurity and respond more consistently to customer requirements, now and in the years ahead.”
The south-facing site will be developed into a modern, bio secure nursery, supporting consistent plant health, improved resilience and reliable supply for customers. Alongside existing facilities, the investment enhances Elsoms Trees’ ability to scale production while maintaining quality and traceability.
