Emergency Approval – Apron
The below applies to any growers who have purchased seed with emergency approved Apron seed treatment for 2024. Please read carefully and ensure you provide all necessary information to the relevant stakeholders.
Carrots
Apron XL is authorised for use as a seed treatment on carrot seed to control damping off (Pythium).
Emergency Authorisation Number: 0202 of 2024
Obligatory Conditions of Approval:
- Field of use: ONLY AS A SEED TREATMENT
- Maximum sowing rate: 2.2 million seeds per hectare
- Sowing period: 1 April to 30 June 2024
- Seed must not be stored from one season to the next
- Treated seed must not be used for food or feed
- Treated seed must not be applied from the air
Horticulture Crop Protection UK Limited are required to collate data from you on the following –
- Volumes of treated seed used
- Sowing dates
- Area sown
- Locations of the fields drilled

Parsnips
Apron XL is authorised for use as a seed treatment on parsnip seeds to control damping off (Pythium).
Emergency Authorisation Number: 0203 of 2024
Obligatory Conditions of Approval:
- Field of use: ONLY AS A SEED TREATMENT
- Maximum sowing rate: 600,000 seeds per hectare
- Sowing period: 1 April to 30 June 2024
- Seed must not be stored from one season to the next
- Treated seed must not be used for food or feed
- Treated seed must not be applied from the air

Red Beet
Apron XL is authorised for use as a seed treatment on red beet seeds to control damping off (Pythium).
Emergency Authorisation Number: 0526 of 2024
Obligatory Conditions of Approval:
- Field of use: ONLY AS A SEED TREATMENT
- Maximum sowing rates:
- Large grade seed (3.5 to 4 mm): 1.75 million seeds per hectare
- Small grade seed (3 to 3.5 mm): 2 million seeds per hectare
- Sowing period: 1 May to 30 June 2024
- Seed must not be stored from one season to the next
- Treated seed must not be used for food or feed

- Volumes of treated seed used
- Sowing rates and timing
- Total area sown in hectares
