Now in their 61st year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year.
In 2019, 507 organisations won an International Safety Award. They span all sectors and are drawn from the United Kingdom, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. 56 organisations were awarded a Distinction, 248 organisations were awarded a Merit and 203 organisations achieved a Pass.
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated Elsoms on its success in winning an International Safety Award 2019 with Merit: “The British Safety Council commends Elsoms on its achievement. The award is in recognition of its commitment and efforts to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.”
“The vision of the British Safety Council is that no-one should be injured or made ill through work – anywhere in the world. Realising it requires more than legislation; people committed to health and safety, and increasingly also to workplace wellbeing, make it a reality and inspire others to create workplaces that are a key force for good.”
“Our warmest congratulations Elsoms. All of those working at Elsoms should be rightly proud of their achievement.”
